The Rise of Kenji Gojira is the story of a 19th century Japanese man sent to Europe as an envoy to learn about industrial technologies who, upon arriving home, finds that the whole country is shifting into a Western mindset. Determined to save his homeland, he builds a steam-powered monster robot suit and tries to scare away the outsiders.

The film was shot on black and white 16mm (Kodak 3374) in a garage/studio in Arlington, VA. The backdrops are hand-painted and the setpieces are built from scratch.

tRoKG was produced by DragonJem Productions in association with Iguanodonald Motion Pictures. It was created by Jason Michelitch and Jim Hickcox. It stars Lorrie Smith.
